VICTORVILLE, Calif. (news release) – On Friday, Oct. 13 the Route 66 Museum will host a special event to honor the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, which includes a convoy of approximately 65 historic military vehicles that are in the final legs of their convoy along Historic Route 66. Their trip began in Chicago on Sept. 16 and will end in Santa Monica, Calif. on Oct. 14.
The military vehicles are expected to stop at the Route 66 Museum on Oct. 13 at approximately 8:30 a.m. The military vehicles will be parked on 6th Street for approximately 1.5 hours for a celebration event. The community is invited to attend this celebration to view the military vehicles and to join in the celebration to honor the Veterans driving in the convoy.
No traffic will be permitted to travel on 6th Street between C and D Streets during the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 p.m., Friday morning. The turn lane from D Street to 6th Street will also be closed.
Delays and congestion on D Street can be expected. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes during the morning hours of Oct. 13.
