Riverside Prep Student Arrested For Making Threats Towards Other Students

ORO GRANDE, Calif. An 18-year-old student at Riverside Preparatory High School was arrested after making threats towards other students, authorities sai.

On Monday, May 1, 2017, at approximately 6:00 p.m. deputies received information that Austin Roach, a student at Riverside Preparatory High School in Oro Grande, had made threatening statements to other students.

The statements were severe and threatened the safety of the students. Deputies were told the school administration was made aware of the threats and were familiar with Roach.

Detectives and deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station went to the school at the beginning of the school day to make contact with Roach and insure the safety of the students and staff. Roach was not found in possession of any weapon; however, deputies located evidence substantiating the threats.

Austin Roach was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bail. The investigation is ongoing.
