REDLANDS:(VVNG.com)- Redlands resident, Joshua Kevin Gray, 30 pleaded not guilty today after being ordered to stand trial for the murder of his brother, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Gray is being charged with one count of murder.
He was held to answer on that charge on July 25 and has a pretrial hearing scheduled on August 14 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Torrance Branch, Department L. Deputy District Attorney Richard Magleby said the murder charge includes allegations that Gray personally used a handgun shooting his brother, Isaiah Gray, 28, several times in the back on Wednesday, December 11, 2013.
The victim had been sleeping in a rental unit on the 1100 block of 107th Street in South Los Angeles that was managed by his brother without his permission,the prosecutor said. As the brothers fought over the use of the apartment, the defendant pulled out a gun. When the victim walked away, the defendant shot him in the back, the prosecutor added. Gray had initially told police three men had killed his brother, according to witness testimony. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
