Police Officer Shot in San Bernardino

UPDATE @ 5:30 p.m.- Rialto Avenue is reportedly blocked to through traffic between Lena Road and Tippecanoe Avenue. A SWAT team and a Bear Cat vehicle have been deployed to a residence. According to unconfirmed reports an unidentified man is barricaded inside the residence. Police have already taken one suspect into custody.

BREAKING:: SAN BERNARDINO- An officer was shot Thursday evening on the 1000 block of Rialto Boulevard in the city of San Bernardino. The shooting took place at approximately 4:30 p.m.

The Officer’s injuries do not appear life threatening, according to Chief Jarrod Burguan with the San Bernardino Police Department. The wounded officer is a Downey Police Officer and was working a case in San Bernardino.
