Missing 12-year-old girl from Rancho Cucamonga found safe

UPDATE 3/19 @ 9:00 PM – The Rancho Police Department sent an update thanking everyone for sharing and confirmed Brooklyn was located and is home safe with her family.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating a 12-year-old Rancho Cucamonga girl suspected of running away from home.

At 2:30 am, on March 19, 2018, deputies with the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a home in the 11400 block of Lomello Way.

Brooklyn Layton was reported missing by her parents who advised they last saw her on Sunday at approximately 9:30 pm. Her parents discovered she was gone at about 2:00 am, when her parents checked her room.

Based on information provided by Brooklyn’s parents, deputies believe she left the residence on her own,” stated sheriff’s officials in a news release.

Brooklyn is 5’4″, approx. 100 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a green long sleeved shirt, grey sweatpants, and unknown type shoes.

Brooklyn does not suffer from any medical problems and due to her age she is listed as a critical missing person by the Rancho PD.
