Phelan Man Arrested for Murdering Woman Inside Residence

PHELAN:( A 57-yea-old Phelan man is behind bars for allegedly murdering his wife. The incident took place at a residence located in the 4500 block of Jackson Lane on Wednesday, December 31, 2014.

At approximately 8:18 AM San Bernardino County Fire Department personnel was dispatched to the residence following a call made referencing a female suffering from a gun shot wound to the head. Upon arrival fire personal found the unidentified victim deceased in the bedroom of the residence.

Due to the “suspicious nature of the death”, deputies from the Sheriff’s Department Phelan station were requested to the scene. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail were requested to assist with the investigation.

Witnesses who live in the area reported hearing the two arguing several days earlier. A local business owner in the area heard the gun go off and immediately ran over to see what was going on and called 911. At this time its unclear what type of relationship the two had.

According to authorities, through the investigation it was determined that Kenneth Ray Davis shot the victim while in the bedroom together. Davis was booked into the High Desert Detention Center later the same day on a charge of murder. Davis is currently being held without bail and is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday at the Victorville court-house.
