Phelan Area Vandals Cause 6 Million Gallon Water Loss

PHELAN-( When California is already experiencing an unprecedented drought, vandals opted to vandalize eight Phelan hydrants.

At 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21st, the Phelan Piñon Hills Community Services District hydrants were tampered with causing significant water loss estimated at 6 million gallons.

The vandalism took place at the following locations in Phelan: Eaby Rd. & Nilsen Rd.; Schlitz Rd. & Sunnyslope Rd.; Smoke Tree Rd. & Smith Rd.; Buckthorn Rd. & Smith Rd.

A $500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the vandal(s). Anyone with information is urged to contact 760-868-1212.
