Pedestrian Struck By a Vehicle Thursday Night

HESPERIA-(VVNG.com):  A male pedestrian was transported to the hospital Thursday night after being stuck by a vehicle near Oakwood avenue and Main street in Hesperia. The white Toyota was driving eastbound at around 8:03 p.m. when the pedestrian walked into the path of the vehicle.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Cindy Bachman told Victor Valley News that the male pedestrian was jaywalking at the time of the collision and that the pedestrian only was transported for a complaint of pain.

Pedestrians are reminded to wear light and/or reflective clothing when walking or riding a bike in the evening. Pedestrians should always walk only in the crosswalk and only when the light indicates  never attempting to beat the traffic. When riding a bike a helmet is a far safer way to ride, so protect yourself, it can make the difference between life and death in the event of a collision.

Drivers are expected to watch for pedestrians, but ultimately it is your life so it is important to protect yourself watching for distracted drivers.
