Pedestrian killed in hit and run crash on Highway 395

VICTORVILLE, Calif. ( — A pedestrian was killed in a hit and run on Highway 395 Friday night.

At about 11:15 pm, Victorville Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of US-395 and Seneca Road following the reports of an unresponsive male lying in the dirt shoulder along road.

The victim, described as an 42-year-old African-American Male from Adelanto was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A witness was driving north on US Hwy 395 south of Seneca Road when she saw a male walking south on the west shoulder near the white fog line of US Hwy 395. The witness saw a dark colored four-door vehicle traveling south on US Hwy 395. The vehicle swerved to the left but struck the pedestrian.

The vehicle that struck and killed the pedestrian fled the scene before deputies arrived. Authorities are searching for a dark-colored sedan with damage to the passenger side.
