ORO GRANDE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A man who was killed while photographing a train in Oro Grande on Monday was identified as Teddy Domingo, 57, of Honolulu, HI.
Domingo and his wife were traveling along National Trails Highway in Oro Grande on October 2nd when they stopped to take photographs of parked train cars, officials said.
Domingo parked his Nissan SUV along the east side of National Trails Highway near Riverside Preparatory School. He exited his SUV and walked over to the tracks while his wife waited behind.
“He was standing on the #1 track of the BNSF mainline when he was struck by a westbound train at 9:27 am,” stated the San Bernardino County Coroners Office.
Emergency crews pronounced Domingo deceased at the scene.
Domingo’s wife remained seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle as deputies investigated the incident.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
