One Dead and Two Injured in Lucerne Valley Collision

LUCERNE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): One died and two others were injured after a traffic collision Saturday evening. At around 7:30 p.m. emergency personnel was dispatched to a traffic collision in the area of Highway 18 and High Road.

Upon deputy’s arrival, they located a red Dodge pickup truck and a Toyota Prius both with major damage.

One occupant in the Prius was trapped requiring extrication. A 72-year-old female, later identified as Altadena resident, Pamela Sue Rogers was not breathing and CPR was administered at the scene.

An airship was requested to airlift the elderly woman but was later cancelled and she was taken to St. Mary’s where she was pronounced dead.

Two other patients were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Apple Valley with minor to moderate injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Motorists reported that the road was cleared to traffic just before 10:00 p.m.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol at this time, information will be updated as it is received.
