New Water Restrictions in Effect in Hesperia

HESPERIA:(VVNG.com)- In order to comply with State mandated water use regulations, the Hesperia Water District has amended conservation requirements for customers.

Outdoor irrigation of landscaping and turf is now limited to five days per week, with watering prohibited on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Customers are asked to voluntarily reduce overall water usage throughout the week, as well. Additionally, outdoor landscaping is not to be watered within 48 hours of measurable rainfall.

These new restriction were implemented as a result of emergency regulations for statewide water conservation adopted by the State Water Resources Control Board on May 5, 2015.

Water use restrictions implemented in August 2014 are still in effect including the prohibition of washing off hard surfaces such as driveways and sidewalks and the requirement that a shut-off hose nozzle be used when washing vehicles. Those observing water waste are encouraged to call the Water Conservation Hotline at 760.947.1601 or report via our mobile app, available for free at the App Store and Google Play.
