VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) At its March 8th meeting, the Victorville Planning Commission approved construction plans for a Speedwash located at the northeast corner of Mc Art and Palmdale Roads, adjacent to the Victorville city yard.
Victorville City Spokeswoman Sue Jones told Victor Valley News, “this is the first development within the City’s Civic Center Specific Plan that was approved by the Planning Commission earlier this year.”
The project site will consist of 4 vacant parcels covering 1.90 acres. The plans call for a manned automated car wash, a multi-tenant building that includes food service, a storage building, an auto-detailing building and various parking spaces.
The developer has requested to use 1,500 sq ft for the use of food at the location.
Team Speedwash currently operates two locations in the Victor Valley. The first location is at the corner of Bear Valley Road and Industrial Blvd. in Victorville. The second location is located in the Walmart shopping center at the corner of Main Street and Escondido in Hesperia.
Speedwash currently has 35 existing employees and the new location would add an additional 12 employees between the three locations, said Speedwash Project Manager David Chacon.
“Another exciting aspect of this new SpeedWash is the sustainability measures proposed in the plan. For example, the operator plans to recycle water, utilize a solar power system and provide charging stations for electric-powered cars,” stated Jones.
According to Jones, it’s too early in the process and it’s unknown when construction is expected to begin.
