National Weather Service Issues Flash Flood Warning For The Victor Valley

VICTORVILLE-(  The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flash flood warning Friday evening.

At around 5:37 p.m. the Doppler Radar indicated that heavy rain in the area may lead to flash flooding. The area that is likely to experience flooding is Victorville, Adelanto, El Mirage, Pinon Hills, Phelan, Oro Grande and Helendale. Highway 395, Highway 18, Route 66 and the I-15 may be impacted by the heavy rains expected.

The flash flood warning remains in effect until 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. The NWS reminds drivers to “turn around, don’t drown” when you encounter flooded areas. Most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles, the NWS said.

Drivers are reminded to drive with caution and remember that headlights are required per California state law when windshield wipers are in use.
