(VVNG.com)- Punch (cut)…Block (cut-cut)…Punch (cut)… Kick (cut) (cut)… Jump (cut-cut-cut-cut-cut-cut)… Kick (cut-cut-cut)… Throw (cut-cut)… Punch (cut-cut-cut-cut-cut)… Fall (cut-cut-cut)… Zombie Attack (cut-cut-cut-cut-cut-cut-cut-cut)….. add a generous amount of shaky cam annnnnd… There!… I just described about 3 seconds of a random action scene that came out in this movie. To say this flick’s action sequences are frantic, is an understatement. They are incredibly energetic and loud, and normally I would be all for that but they do become a bit nauseating and sometimes it’s hard to tell what da heck is going on. Now, I’m not saying that I’m expecting an Oscar worthy film when I watch a Resident Evil flick, all I want is to get entertained and if I have to feel like I am being slapped by the visuals, then so be it.
I know, I know, I sound like an old grump but I’m just saying that you might get a minor headache during the fast paced scenes and I suggest to stay away from this, altogether, if you’re prone to motion sickness or seizures. I actually did find this flick amusing and entertaining. If you are a fan of this series, you will most likely enjoy this “last” part of the saga. Just don’t expect too much and ignore its many imperfections so you can fully enjoy the cheesiness and destruction to the fullest.
I give Resident Evil 5 (or 6 or 7, I lost count), The “Checky™ Sticker of Tolerance!”. Definitely a popcorn movie that requires minimal brain cells to enjoy. The plot is extremely convenient but the effects and overall movie is an improvement from the last 2 (or 3) Resident Evil flicks. So bring a barf bag or take some Dramamine, sit back and get ready to be bombarded by some bombastically fun action sequences, and not much else, during this violently chaotic flick.
So, what did you think of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter? Do you agree or disagree with me? Which flick are you checking out this week? What is your favorite movie based on a video game, of all time? Let me know in the comments below. Have a great day at the movies and don’t forget to save me some popcorn.
