Motorcyclist Ejected in I-40 Crash Airlifted

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 47-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center after he was ejected from his bike during a crash.

At approximately 1:29 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017, the Barstow dispatch center received a call of a traffic collision involving a solo motorcycle on eastbound Interstate 40, east of Crucero Road.

According to CHP officer Adam Carmichall, a 2007 Harley-Davidson, was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40, in the #1 lane, east of Crucero Road, when the rider lost control of the motorcycle.

After losing control, the Harley Davidson traveled into the #2 lane and overturned. The solo male rider was ejected from the bike.

The Harley Davidson continued off the roadway and came to rest in the open desert to the south of Interstate 40.

The rider was transported by air to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with “moderate injuries”, according to officials.

The collision remains under investigation by the Barstow Area California Highway Patrol. Anyone with information regarding the crash can call (760) 255-8700.
