HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A 22-year-old motorcyclist remains in critical condition following a crash with a pick-up truck in Hesperia Thursday night.
It happened at about 5:00 pm, when deputies from the Hesperia Station and personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department were dispatched to a two-vehicle traffic collision, involving a motorcycle, in the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Olive Street.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found a Hispanic Male Adult motorcycle rider down on the shoulder of the roadway suffering from major injuries.
The victim was transported to Desert Valley Hospital and later airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he is receiving ongoing treatment for life threatening injuries. The female driver of the involved vehicle cooperated with investigators and did not receive any injuries during the collision.
“Based on statements and evidence at the scene, it was determined a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling north on Seventh Avenue, when the adult female driver attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Olive Street. At the same time, a 2016 Suzuki, being driven by an adult male was southbound on Seventh, crossing Olive. The two vehicles collided in the intersection, ejecting the motorcycle rider from his vehicle,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release.
The Hesperia Station Traffic Division is conducting the investigation and anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact Deputy Eric Getts or Sergeant Doug Hubbard from the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station at (760) 947-1500.
