HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The County of San Bernardino Human Services building was placed on lockdown after a man was reportedly shot in the parking lot.
At about 4:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Deputies responded to the 9600 block of 9th Avenue for a report of shots heard and immediately began closing off the parking lot with crime scene tape.
“It was between customers. Both checked in. Had an altercation … one left and waited outside apparently,” according to a witness who was on lockdown inside the building.
Sheriff’s officials confirmed the victim took himself to a local area hospital with a gunshot wound and his injuries are nonlife-threatening.
“There is no suspects in custody and deputies interviewed numerous people that were inside and outside of the location and were unable to find any witnesses,” stated Sheriff’s Spokeswoman Jodi Miller.
At approximately 5:40 pm, customers and employees were released through the rear of the building.
