Man Shot In His Chest Airlifted to Hospital

HESPERIA, Calif:(VVNG.com)- A man was airlifted Wednesday night after sustaining a gunshot wound to his chest.

Just before 9:20 p.m. dispatch received a report from a male stating he had been shot. The victim told dispatchers he was driving and gave them directions to his whereabouts.

The vehicle, an older model BMW, came to a stop across the street from the Econolodge on the 11900 block of Mariposa Road in Hesperia.

Authorities arrived at the scene and located the Hispanic male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper left chest, per scanner reports. An air ambulance was requested to transport him to a trauma hospital.

A sheriff’s helicopter was also called in to assist deputies with monitoring the immediate area.

Mariposa Road was shut down in both directions for an unknown duration while authorities conducted their investigation.

At this time it’s unknown if any suspects are still outstanding.

The story is developing and information will be updated as it becomes available.
