Man killed in crash on Palmdale Road Wednesday night

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A fatal crash has prompted authorities to shut down a stretch of Palmdale Road Wednesday night.

The multi-vehicle crash was reported at about 5:32 pm, along Palmdale Road near Emerald Road in Victorville.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located four vehicles including a burgundy Lexus, gray Honda, white Chevy Equinox, and a Toyota sedan blocking the roadway.

According to San Bernardino County Fire, one person was pronounced dead on arrival and four other patients sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to various local hospitals.

The Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) will respond and determine the cause of the crash.

Palmdale Road between Cantina and Cobalt Roads is expected to remain closed while the investigation is conducted.

UPDATE 1/4 – Upon arrival, Deputies determined that a burgundy Lexus Passenger vehicle was driving east on Palmdale Road and rear ended a white Chevrolet Equinox. The Lexus entered the westbound lanes of Palmdale Road and was broadsided by a gray Honda Accord traveling west on Palmdale Road. The Honda was struck by a black Toyota Celica traveling west on Palmdale Road.

The driver of the Lexus was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger of the Lexus and occupants of the Honda were transported to local area hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
