Man in Fatal Mother’s Day Quad Collision ID’d

EL MIRAGE-(VVNG.com): The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner released the identity of the man fatally injured as the result of an El Mirage Dry lake quad accident early Mother’s Day morning.

Lynwood resident Armando Rivera lost his life after crashing his 2003 Honda 400EX Quad causing him to be ejected as the quad rolled over several times. The fatal quad accident was reported at 6:09 a.m. on Sunday, May 9th.

Authorities said that the 34-year-old Rivera was driving the quad at unsafe speeds, possibly while intoxicated. The rough terrain caused the vehicle to overturn, throwing Rivera several feet from the quad.

Friends told Victor Valley News that his young son was among the family members who witnessed the fatal collision. Rivera was pronounced deceased just before 6:30 a.m. by San Bernardino County Fire Department Medics at the scene.
