Wrightwood, Calif. (VVNG.com) Daniel Sanchez, 24, was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center Tuesday morning after an attempted carjacking.

The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Thrush Road at approximately 12:42 a.m. Deputies learned through investigation that a Good Samaritan attempted to help Sanchez after he was involved in a single vehicle collision with his motorcycle.

When the Good Samaritan tried to assist Sanchez, the person was pulled out of their vehicle by the suspect, assaulted, and both subjects slid down the embankment.

That’s when Sanchez then got into the Good Samaritan’s vehicle and attempted to leave but soon after crashed into a snow bank, authorities said.

After a report was filed, Deputies Robert Theiss and John Hayes of the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station later found the victim’s vehicle stuck in a snowbank and Sanchez’s down motorcycle.

Deputies made contact with Sanchez, who was found intoxicated, and was immediately arrested.

Sanchez is being held in lieu of $125,000 bail on charges of attempted carjacking.
