HELENDALE, Calif. (VVNG.com)- Johnny Mac Whitworth, 49, a resident of Helendale, was arrested for inflicting injury to a spouse or cohabitant, criminal threats, and false imprisonment.
On Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at approximately 9:17 a.m. San Bernardino County Sheriff’s dispatch received a call that someone was being held against their will in their home in Helendale.
Deputies Craig Vanden-Bossche and Justin McLean from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the residence and could hear a female screaming in the residence, however no one answered the door or the phone. Deputies continued to attempt to make contact with the residents while additional units responded to the area. After approximately two hours, the suspect, identified as Johnny Mac Whitworth, exited the residence and was taken into custody without further incident. Deputies learned Whitworth had assaulted the victim and refused to allow the victim to leave the residence. The victim had only minor injuries which did not require medical attention.
Johnny Mac Whitworth was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center, where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail on charges of false imprisonment, criminal threats and causing injury to a spouse or cohabitant.
