APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Rolando Sesan, 21, an Apple Valley transient was arrested for the murder of 40-year-old Monique Marty, officials said.
Monique Marty was found deceased near a park bench at James Woody Park at about 1:50 am, on Friday, June 8, 2018. Through investigation, detectives determined Marty was murdered and officials asked for the public’s help with any information regarding the killing.
According to a sheriff’s news release, on June 10, 2018, the suspect identified as Rolando Sesan called sheriff’s dispatch requesting to speak to a Deputy Sheriff. Detectives from the Homicide Team interviewed Mr. Sesan, he was subsequently arrested, transported and booked into the Central Detention Center for Murder.
Sesan is being held without bail and is scheduled for court on June 12th. Authorities have not released any information on a possible motive or type of weapon used in the murder.
Family and friends of the slain woman have planned a candlelight vigil at James Woody Park for Monday, June 11, 2018, at 7:30 pm.
