Male Victim Airlifted After Adelanto Shooting

ADELANTO-(VVNG.com):  Deputies from the Adelanto station are investigating a shooting on the 18300 block of Montezuma Street.

At around 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18th deputies, and emergency medical personnel responded to a report of a man being shot.

Per scanner traffic, the reporting party told dispatchers that the victim was shot in front of his Montezuma Street apartments by a 17-18-year-old Hispanic male.

The suspect, according to witnesses, was last seen wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. He was with two black men and believed to be in a black Nissan Sentra. 

Deputies were able to locate the victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm. The victim was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, there are no suspects in custody at this time. If anyone has any regarding the shooting they are urged to contact the Adelanto Police Department at  (760) 552-6800 or after hours at (760) 956-5001.
