Loaded gun found on drivers waistband during traffic stop in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 30-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man was arrested in Victorville after deputies found a loaded gun in his waistband during a traffic stop, officials said.

It happened on October 19, 2017, at 3:55 a.m., when Deputy A. Arreola, from the Victorville Police Department, conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Mariposa Road and Bear Valley Road.

During the process of identifying the driver, Christopher Albano, Deputy Arreola learned his driver’s license was suspended.

The deputy ordered Albano to step out of his vehicle . “Once out of the vehicle, Albano moved his right hand to the front of his body, toward his waistband. Arreola was able to reach the suspect’s waistband and discovered a loaded firearm, concealed in his pants,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

Albano is prohibited from possessing a firearm. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center.
