Landers Man Killed In Lucerne Valley Crash; CHP Seeking Witnesses

LUCERNE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 56-year-old Landers man was killed in a rollover crash on Highway 247 Sunday morning.

On April 16, 2017, at 6:39 a.m. officers with the Victorville CHP responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on SR-247, near Old Woman Springs Road and Lafon Road in Lucerne Valley.

Upon arrival, officers located a 2009 Dodge Caliber with the driver identified as David Hoffman still inside. Hoffman was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to authorities, “it appears the vehicle was traveling eastbound on SR-247, crossed over the westbound lane, drifted off the road, then made an abrupt right turn back onto the roadway at which time the driver lost control.

The vehicle overturned an undetermined amount of times coming to rest on its passenger side facing in a westerly direction on the south side of the road.

“As of yet, no witnesses to this collision have come forward,” stated CHP officials.

The cause of the collision is under investigation by the Victorville CHP office. Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to contact 760-241-1186.
