Hit-and-Run Involving Unmarked Unit in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, CALIF ( Police are searching for a pickup truck that struck an unmarked unit and fled the scene on Wednesday morning.

The incident occurred in the area of Highway 18 and Tao Road at about 10:30 a.m. on August 3rd.

According to Sheriff’s spokeswoman Trish Hill, the unmarked unit was parked in a parking lot. “An unknown person backed into the vehicle and left the scene. It was minor damage and no one was injured.”

Per scanner traffic, the involved vehicle was described as a gray Ford or Chevy early 90’s model pickup truck with a ladder rack, carrying a ladder, and some landscaping equipment. The vehicle was last seen northbound from Highway 18 and Tao Road.

“The detective was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident,” stated Hill.
