Hesperia man arrested in string of vehicle burglaries near Deep Creek

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) – Authorities arrested a 25-year-old Hesperia man in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries near the Mojave River Forks Dam.

On October 23, 2017, deputies responded to a vehicle burglary near the Deep Creek spillway. Additional vehicle burglaries were reported on October 30, November 21, and November 29, 2017.

The burglary cases were assigned to Detective Robbi DeBois of Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station. “Detective DeBois developed leads related to these burglaries, which resulted in the issuance of a search warrant for a residence in the 18000 block of Sycamore Street in the City of Hesperia,” officials said in a news release.

According to the release, “during the service of the search warrant property belonging to victims in these burglaries was recovered.

The suspect, Joshua Allen Lay was arrested for the burglaries and booked at High Desert Detention Center.

According to public arrest logs, Lay later posted bail and was released.
