Hesperia, CA – On Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., the City of Hesperia will celebrate the newest senior housing option with a ribbon cutting ceremony for “the Villas, a 55+ community”. Developed and managed by Eagle Real Estate Group of Newport Beach, CA, the Villas provides housing for low- and moderate-income seniors. The partnership between Eagle and the City guarantees that affordability covenants will be in place for 55 years.
“For seniors who wish to continue living near their family and friends in the High Desert, but who are no longer interested in maintaining their own home and property, the Villas apartments offer an excellent lifestyle option. The Villas presents an affordable solution in an accommodating community setting,” said Hesperia Mayor Paul Russ.
The Villas is located on the north side of Avenal Street, east of Mariposa Road with convenient access to I-15, Main Street and Bear Valley Road, as well as a VVTA bus stop located on Avenal. The Villas is being developed on a portion of 9.41 acres, and will consist of 96 units including 64 one-bedroom/one bath units and 32 two-bedroom/one-and-a-half bath units in four two-story buildings containing 24 units each; 629-square-foot one bedroom apartments, and 875-square-foot two-bedroom apartments.
The fully gated and fenced property offers a safe haven with security cameras and elevators, and provides amenities meant to impart a strong sense of community. Residents will enjoy a spacious 3,348-square-foot clubhouse decorated with historical photographs of Hesperia, complete with kitchen facilities, computer and fitness centers. The amenity-rich Villas also includes a lap pool, Jacuzzi, barbecues, outdoor seating, and even a dog park. Each apartment includes individual washer and dryer, refrigerator, patio balcony, and ceiling fans.
“We are pleased to see the addition of this high quality, income-eligible senior community to Hesperia’s housing inventory,” said Economic Development Manager Rod Yahnke. “The City is committed to seeing projects developed that provide housing alternatives for actively independent seniors.”
The Villas in Hesperia replicates Eagle’s highly successful Santa Barbara Mission Style 55+ senior apartments in Colton. Residents of the Colton Villas have glowing recommendations about their move to their new apartment accommodations and enjoy the quiet, clean and safe environment. Lydia Toscano, a Villas resident since July 2014, said, “With all the activities that are offered such as bible study, luncheons, dances, bingo, and yoga just to name a few, I have been able to make many new friends.”
“Expanding the Eagle brand into Hesperia with its continuing growth allows us the potential to develop long-term community relationships and future opportunities for serving High Desert seniors,” said Randy Friend, Principal and CEO of Eagle Real Estate Group.
Wednesday’s ribbon cutting ceremony will feature the musical stylings of Phat Cat Swinger and the festivities will continue until approximately 12:30 p.m.
