Hazmat Responds to Fuel Spill in Victorville

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- On Sunday, August 23, 2014 at about 1:35 P.M., dispatch received a report of a large gas spill on the roadway in the area of 5th Avenue and Bear Valley Road.

When deputies from the Victor Valley Station arrived on scene, they determined that a 43-gallon fell off a pickup truck and landed in the roadway.

Hazmat was requested to safely clean up the fuel spill, which was believed to be diesel fuel.

An estimated 20 gallons of fuel was on the roadway, with some of the fuel running down the gutter.

5th Avenue was closed at Bear Valley Road while the fuel spill was cleaned up.
