I would gladly pay to watch a movie where the Guardians of the Galaxy just go to an intergalactic 7-11 to buy some lottery scratchers. That’s how much I love the Guardians. So it should not come as a surprise that I LOVED this flick, since it has plenty of space battles, flawless special effects, and tons of gut busting jokes that guarantee a great time at the movies. The action is fun, loud and explosive… but don’t expect it to be non-stop. The movie comes out of hyperspace long enough to slow things down and focus on the relationships between all of the delightful characters. Don’t worry about it being boring though, on the contrary, you will be thoroughly entertained by all the fast paced parts and your patience, during the slower parts, will definitely be rewarded with an emotional and explosive last act that includes a bunch of “Oh FUUUUUUdge!” moments and plenty of badassery. The Guardians are back, and I am so happy to say that they are as fantastic as ever.
I give Guardians of the Galaxy VOL. 2 the “Checky™ Seal of Approval!” Just seeing the gang back together at the beginning of the flick, made me grin and I was instantly pleased. This is a fully entertaining and immensely emotional movie, full of great performances, great locations and great music, that you don’t want to miss. Other than a few jokes dragging for a bit longer than I could handle, I really don’t have anything negative to say about the movie. I highly recommend you watch this in theaters and if after everything you just read, you’re still not convinced, then just know that if you skip this flick, you are missing out on the incredibly adorable Baby Groot, and that is something you don’t want to have on your conscience for the rest of your life.
So, what did you think of the Guardians of the Galaxy VOL. 2? Do you agree or disagree with me? Which flick are you checking out this week? Let me know in the comments below. Have a great day at the movies and don’t forget to save me some popcorn.
