Girl, 10, Escapes Attempted Kidnapping in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Police are searching for a man who attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in Victorville Monday afternoon.

The attempted kidnapping occurred in the area of 7th Street and Tatum Road on May 9, 2017.

At about 4:40 p.m. a woman called 911 stating a male in a black BMW with chrome rims and paper plates tried to get her 10-year-old daughter into his vehicle.

“The girl did not get in the car and the driver left the area,” stated Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez.

Deputies responded to the area and conducted a search for the suspect. A Sheriff’s helicopter was also called in to assist but were unable to locate the vehicle and occupants.

According to Rodriguez, “the driver was described as a Black male, approximately 40-years-old. A white female was a passenger in the vehicle, nothing further on her description.”
