PHELAN, CA:(VVNG.com)– A 26-year-old Fontana man involved in a crash on Highway 138 was killed early Sunday morning.
On Sunday, October 23rd at approximately 5:02 a.m. officers from the California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision on SR-138 between Blossom Drive and Centola Road.
According to authorities, a 1997 Mercedes-Benz driven by a Fontana man was traveling eastbound on Highway 138 approaching Centola Road at an unknown speed.
At the same time, a 2006 Chevrolet, driven by 36-year-old Robert Norbryhn, a resident of Running Springs, was traveling westbound on SR-138, just west of Centola Rd.
For reasons still under investigation, the Mercedes traveled onto the westbound lane and struck the Chevrolet.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene and determined the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, Mario Bahena sustained fatal injuries. Ontario resident Rebecca Ramirez, 25, a passenger in the Mercedes-Benz and Mr. Norbryhn were transported to local hospitals with moderate injuries.
