Firefighters Respond to Vegetation Fire in the River Bottom

VICTORVILLE:( On Saturday, October 24, 2015 at approximately 10:50 A.M., firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire located in the Mojave River bottom.

Per scanner traffic, the location of the fire was reported to be near the 76 gas station on Stoddard Wells Road near the 15 freeway.

Several fire engines responded and staged at the entrance to the Motel 6. A Glen Helen hand crew was requested but cancelled a short time later.

Firefighters made access to the fire and located a 15×20 spot. The vegetation fire was quickly contained. An investigator will respond to help determine the cause of the fire.
