Firefighters Knock Down Victorville House Fire

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Two people were displaced from their home after a fire erupted in the garage and quickly spread to the rest of the home.

Just before 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017, San Bernardino County Fire responded to the 17300 block of Jupiter Avenue to a structure fire.

“When we arrived on scene we found the garage heavily involved extending into the living space,” Battalion Chief Bobby Cox told Victor Valley News.

“We made an aggressive fire attack and knocked it down in about 15 minutes. [Firefighters] cleared the house and made sure there was nobody inside,” stated Cox.

A total of 15 firefighters, three engines, a truck company, a squad, and a Batallion Chief responded to the structure fire.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced occupants.

Witnesses reported seeing a suspicious subject in the area moments before the fire started. A fire investigator was requested to respond.

The official cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
