House Fire Claims the Life of a Lucerne Valley Father

LUCERNE VALLEY-(  At approximately 1:55 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3rd, dispatch received a report of a structure fire on 32100 block of Topaz Road in Lucerne Valley.

Firefighters from the  San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived on scene to find a fully engulfed vehicle and smoke coming from the home.

As firefighters attempted to clear the structure of any occupants, they located a woman and five children outside of the home. Upon making contact with them, they were made aware that for unknown reasons the father had re-entered the home.

The firefighters made their way into the home locating the father deceased inside of the home. The fire was contained to two rooms of the home and the vehicle was a complete loss.

The early morning fire is still under investigation, and at this time, there are no further details available.
