Duo Arrested in Connection With Multiple Residential Burglaries

HESPERIA, CA:(VVNG.com)- A man and woman are in custody following a residential burglary that led deputies to the discovery of over $10,000 in stolen property.

On Sunday, September 4, 2016, at approximately 10:53 a.m., Deputies of the Hesperia Station responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress. The reporting parties showed up at a family member’s home in the area of Third Ave. and El Centro St. to find a male and female burglarizing the home.

The family members reported the crime, stating the male suspect pulled a knife and threatened them with it, before fleeing in a vehicle. The victims were able to get the license plate of the vehicle the suspect’s fled in. Deputies located the suspects and vehicle, which turned out to be stolen out of Lancaster, in the parking lot of Chevron at Ranchero and Escondido Rd.

The suspects were captured after a long foot pursuit across a nearby field and were taken into custody without further incident. The suspects, Christie Marie Rocha, 32, a resident of Apple Valley and Kyle Dillon Forsberg, 23, of Hesperia, were positively identified.

After further investigation, deputies obtained search warrants for suspect Forsberg’s residence in Hesperia and a storage unit in Hesperia. Deputies located property associated with at least five burglaries and totaling more than $10,000 in value. Much of the property has been identified and released to the victims already. Deputies are currently working to match up the remaining property recovered at these locations with police reports throughout the High Desert. Suspects Kyle Forsberg and Christie Rocha were arrested and booked at HDDC. Forsberg was booked on charges of PC245(a)(1)- Assault with a deadly weapon, PC459-Burglary and PC496d(a)- Possession of stolen vehicle. Rocha was booked for PC245(a)(1)- Assault with a deadly weapon, PC459-Burglary, PC496d(a)- Possession of a stolen vehicle and PC4573- Bringing a controlled substance into a jail.
