Driver Ejected From Vehicle Dies on 15 Freeway

NEWBERRY SPRINGS-(VVNG.com): Just after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9th the California Highway Patrol and medics from the San Bernardino County fire department responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision. The traffic collision occurred on the I-15 South just south of Alvord Mountain Road CHP officials said.

Upon arrival, they located a 24-year-old motorist with severe life-threatening injuries. CPR was administered and an airship was requested. The driver ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene and the airship was cancelled.

CHP officials said that the Honda Civic, for reasons still under investigation, drifted into the dirt center median and quickly went back across southbound lanes slamming into a traffic barrier ultimately causing the vehicle to overturn. The sole occupant of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

The identity of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin.
