Deputies Searching for Suspect in Attempted Rape

VICTORVILLE:(VVNG.com)- Police responded to the Victorville Walmart on the 11800 block of Amargosa Road following a report of an alleged rape behind the location at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Victorville Spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said, “ There was an assault with attempt to commit rape.” Rodriguez told Victor Valley News that the scene has been cleared and the search for the suspect is continuing.A suspect has been identified but not yet located,” she said.

During the search police set up a perimeter while they searched for the suspect who left the location on foot. A CHP helicopter assisted with the search, but later were required to retreat due to weather conditions.

The suspect is described as possibly a Hispanic male adult, 5’6″, medium build, with a mole on his upper lip and is bleeding from his left eye due to scratches.
