VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – Victorville deputies conducted two separate special enforcement traffic operations targeting speeders and red-light runners resulting in 140 citations.
The grant was made available to the City of Victorville through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assitance.
Both operations were aimed at increasing safe driving awareness in several high traffic areas within the city of Victorville.
A Red-Light Operation was conducted on five separate days during the months of April and May. During these focused operations, deputies issued a total of 75 citations to drivers who failed to stop for red lights. The intersections covered during the operations were, Palmdale Road and Amargosa Road, Hesperia Road and Nisqualli Road, Hesperia Road and Silica Drive, Hesperia Road and Bear Valley Road, Bear Valley Road and Mariposa Road, and Bear Valley Road and Industrial Boulevard.
Deputies also conducted a Speed Enforcement Operation during the month of May. This operation concentrated on the highly traveled Air Expressway. Citations were issued to 65 drivers for exceeding the posted speed limit during the seven days of the operation.
