Couple engaged to be married killed in crash Friday

KRAMER JUNCTION, Calif. (VVNG.com) Nicolett Elaine Conley, 31, and her fiance, Mathew Thomas Woodall, 33, both died in a crash on State Route 58 on Friday.

The accident occurred on July 7, 2017 at 2:10 p.m. just west of Highway 395.

According to authorities, the silver Toyota Camry the couple was in was rear-ended by a big rig which forced the car into a pickup truck.

“A Kenworth tractor-trailer combination vehicle was traveling eastbound on SR 58 just west of Kramer Junction. As eastbound traffic began to slow, the Kenworth collided into the rear of a Toyota Camry,” CHP Officer Adam Carmichall stated.

The Bakersfield couple were backseat passengers in the Camry and were pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

The driver and front passenger of the Camry were transported to various hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not known Saturday morning.

No one from the semi or pickup truck required transportation.

The couple killed had their wedding day set for July 27, 2017, a family member confirmed.

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
