Confirmed Dead Body Found In Charred Vehicle

BREAKING: Per scanner traffic, a call was made to central communications center by a camper reporting a fire coming from a remote camp site at approximately 8am on Monday.

The location is approximately a quarter mile east from Stoddard Wells road near the Lucerne Valley cut off.

The camper states, he never saw fire personnel respond to the location so the camper decided to do an area check. Upon arrival he located a burned out vehicle. After approaching the vehicle for a closer look he called dispatch and reported finding possible human bones inside of the back seat of the vehicle.

CHP helicopter, BLM, Fire, and Sheriffs have responded to the location.

Officials have confirmed a body was in fact located inside of the charred vehicle. An investigation is underway and no further details are available at this time.
