Car slams into Apple Valley home narrowly missing elderly man inside

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) An elderly man escaped serious injury after a vehicle slammed into his living room as he sat and watched television.

It happened at about 10:00 pm, Monday night in the 11100 block of Kiowa Road in Apple Valley.

According to a witness, a male driver was heading southbound on Kiowa Road when he lost control of his Ford Fusion and over corrected. The car veered back onto the road and then across the street and into the living room of the home.

The vehicle narrowly missed an elderly man who was sitting down on his sofa watching TV. Apple Valley Fire evaluated the man at the scene and determined he had no injuries.

Fire personnel shored up the home after the car was pulled out by a tow truck. Due to the damages, the building was red tagged making uninhabitable.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the elderly resident with temporary housing and other necessities.
