Man with burns airlifted after garage fire in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A man with burns to his arms was airlifted to a trauma hospital following a garage fire here Sunday.

At about 12:00 pm, firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire were dispatched to the 13000 block of Wells Fargo reference a structure fire with heavy smoke showing.

According to a tweet from SB County Fire, a Batallion Chief on scene advised of a well involved detached garage to the rear of a residence with exposures to multiple vehicles on the property. One burn victim was also reported.

Firefighters were in a defensive attack as the worked to keep the fire from spreading. At about 12:45 pm the fire was reportedly knocked down and crews were in overhaul.

Helicopter H325 was requested to land near the scene and flew the patient to Arrowhead Regional Medical Burn Center.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
