BREAKING: New Fire Erupts in Cajon Pass on Tuesday

UPDATE @ 11:40 am – 4 strike teams requested, several houses and cars with people trapped them are in immediate danger of the fire. The fire is heading towards Wrightwood.

UPDATE @ 11:30 am – Evacuations are being ordered and structure protection is now in place. The fire has jumped the ridge and the train tracks.

UPDATE @ 11:23 am – Hard Closure set up at Cajon/Kenwood for northbound traffic.

UPDATE @ 11:15 am – The #Bluecut fire is now at 5 acres and holding at the ridge. Per scanner reports, no structures are threatened.

DEVORE, Calif:( San Bernardino County Fire is responding to a vegetation fire burning in the Cajon Pass Tuesday morning.

The fire dubbed the Bluecut fire is burning north of Kenwood Avenue and Blue Cut on the southbound side of the 15 freeway.  According to CHP incident logs, the fire was reported at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday, August 16th.

Motorist traveling on the 15 freeway told Victor Valley News, the fire appears to be burning on the side of the mountain.

As of 11:05 am, the fire is at 2 acres with a fast rate of spread, according to San Bernardino County Fire.
