BREAKING: Brush Fire in Cajon Pass

UPDATE @ 4:20 pm – The fire is out! An investigator has been requested to respond to the scene.

UPDATE @ 4:15 pm – The fire is contained at 6 acres. Firefighters have a line around the fire and is currently contained.

UPDATE @ 4:10 pm – The Fire has been dubbed the “East Incident”

UPDATE @ 4:05 pm – A water dropping helicopter is overhead assisting with fighting the fire. The Forrest Service is also sending an aircraft.

UPDATE @ 4:00 pm –  Fire upgraded to a 2nd Alarm vegetation fire. CHP is closing down Highway 138. No structures are threatened.

CAJON PASS : (VVNG.com)- Firefighters are responding to a brush fire on State Route 138 just east of the 15 freeway.

The fire was reported at about 3:45 pm. on Thursday, July 21st.

Victor Valley News member Bobby Mourino, submitted a photo showing a plume of smoke.

Per scanner traffic, deputies are reporting the large plume of smoke visible from the Oak Hills community.
