Authorities Attempting to Identify Jane Doe Found in Aqueduct

HESPERIA-( At approximately 10:25 A.M., on Sunday, May 31, 2015, a worker from the Department of Water Resources was doing his rounds on the Aqueduct and found a body in the California Aqueduct. The body was located on Amargosa, near the Key Pointe Avenue.

Initially, based on preliminary reports, the body was reported to media to be that of a male, but it was later determined to be a female. The body of the unidentified female was found face down, floating within the Aqueduct.

The worker immediately called 911 to report his findings. Upon arrival, CHP officers determined the body was displaying obvious signs of Rigor Mortis. The body was pulled from the water by the Sheriff’s Department Dive Team just before 2:00 P.M.

According to CHP Officer Robert Grieve, the female is still yet to be identified and the age at this time is unknown.

Krystie Stuart, a Lucerne Valley woman, has been missing since March 3, 2015. Her family has been actively searching for her since her suspicious disappearance. On Monday, June 1st her mother Ginger Stuart posted the following, “It has been confirmed that the body that was found in the Aqueduct yesterday is NOT Krystie Stuart.
Our prayers go out to the family of their lost loved one.”

The cause of death remains under investigation at this time. If you have any information you are urged to contact the CHP office (760) 241-1185.
