Apple Valley Man Arrested for Negligent Discharge of a Firearm

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 58-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm Thursday morning.

On May 11, 2017, at about 8:00 a.m. deputies responded to a residence located in the 8400 block of Aspen Road in the unincorporated area of Apple Valley.

When deputies arrived they found David Floyd Rains in possession of a firearm.

“Deputy Sean Byrne conducted an investigation at the residence and learned David Rains had fired a weapon outside his residence,” stated Sheriff’s spokeswoman Pamela Hoffman.

David Rains was taken into custody without incident and booked at High Desert Detention Center, where he is being held on a charge of negligent discharge of a firearm, with bail set at $50,000.
