Apple Valley Kiwanis Holds Fundraiser to Benefit Children

APPLE VALLEY:(  “Serving the Children of the World” is the Kiwanis International’s mission. The Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley strives to accomplish this one child and one community at a time by supporting and sponsoring a number of programs in the Victor Valley. This includes a high school scholarship program; purchasing livestock from local youths at the county fair and donating the meat to the Salvation Army; and sponsoring high school key clubs, which teaches young people leadership through service to others.

Everything the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley does comes back to their mission, including their major fundraising event of the year, the “Stars and Stripes Casino Night.” The purpose of its name is to honor the memory and sacrifice of the many victims of September 11, and above all, to honor the United States of America. It’s one of the club’s important key objectives — to promote justice, patriotism and goodwill.

This year’s casino night will be Sept. 5 from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Apple Valley Golf Course. Tickets cost $20, which includes food and casino entertainment. The funds raised will help the Kiwanis Club of Apple Valley continue in their mission to change the world by serving children. After all, when you give a child a chance, great things happen. For more information about the casino night, to purchase tickets, or find out how to become a member, visit or call 760-462-6059.
